I'm reminded of something my grandfather Oscar told me that I never forgot. He said that he thought the cello was the only instrument that sounded the closest to a human heart...breaking. And that holds so true on this record. Thank you Aaron for your beautiful cello, as well as all the other wonderful stringed instruments. If this is the new "electro-acoustic classical" count me on board! bambilyn
This is a masterclass of an album that explores a different ambient/modern classical style in each song. Such variety would be almost unsettling if each wasn't so expertly rendered.
From the grinding, interstellar pulse of Anthracite, to the multilayering of Shuffle, and finally to the air-light piano of Hauntology, this is is deeply compelling music, rendered in a rich palette of sounds.
Each track is a journey; taken as a complete work, it's a labyrinthine voyage of endless possibilities. Michael Mueller
